I was born at Jewell Row which is now the site of the elderly people’s bungalows at Carew Road and I attended St Day School before progressing to Redruth County Grammar School.
Most people know me as June’s husband, as, while our two girls attended school, June worked in my mum, Betty’s, bread and pasty shop located in the Old Post Office at the bottom of Fore Street.
I have been employed in electrical wholesaling for most of my career, latterly at Edmundson Electrical. I was originally based in Truro but have been manager at Redruth for 25 years and have requested early retirement at the end of July, 2017, when I will have completed 37 years continuous employment.
I have played all 3 codes of ball sport for our village – football, cricket and rugby – and am still an active committee member and supporter of the football club at Vogue.
I am also a committee member and bar manager at the Enterprise Centre which is available to everyone in the village.
I am looking forward to being more involved and active within our community, taking any of your concerns forward. If you don’t recognise me from my mug shot I’m sure you’ll recognise my dog, Marly.
