I moved to St Day from Four Lanes with my wife and family five years ago. In this time I have made some great friends and feel lucky to have chosen such a beautiful place to live.
I have over 10 years town management experience. As St Ives Town Centre BID Manager,
I worked closely with the town council and Cornwall Council on the St Ives Neighbourhood Plan, delivered a pedestrian signage scheme, new destination website, new public waste and recycling bins and launched a Safe Harbour scheme for the town’s children.
I was responsible for co-ordinating St Ives in Bloom and the replacement of the 40-year-old festoon lighting scheme which runs through the town. I also planned and managed events including the annual Food & Drink Festival, Christmas lights switch-on and New Years Eve celebrations.
My experience as a communications and project manager would enable me to help with co-ordination of events, negotiating contracts, liaising with Cornwall Council, licensing, traffic management and risk assessments.
I feel it is important to maintain and build upon the great sense of community that St Day has, and see the role of Parish Councillor as an approachable, friendly member of the community who will act on any issues raised affecting the town and its people.
